Enculturation Project – Fun Assignment

The Enculturationlearning culture begins at birth; it is both conscious and unconscious learning, and both informal (within families) and formal (within institutions, as in church, or school), but most importantly it is passed down from generation to generation Project Fun Assignment involves critical thinking of questions regarding enculturation.  It can be about someone you have met or are associated with, that you have wondered why he/she has a certain behavior. (Do not name this person, use only he/she.) It might be something he/she has said, or something that is celebrated, or even a particular piece of clothing, or object they have exhibited. It could be religious, political, or even a particular foodany nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth that he/she eats. Make the question the title of a one or two-page essay.

In the essay, introduce the person’s (he/she) background and then the behavior that you “wondered about.”  Analyze how you think he/she became enculturated with this behavior.  Cite examples from the Power Point presentation, the movies, and/or the opinion article.
